Chasing the sun…

January 9, 2010

What you are seeing is a picture of my living room which was taken today. And have a guess at what time I took this picture?

It was 5:20pm.

If you’d had guessed that it was 10pm, well don’t feel bad, it’s very normal.

One of the things that I found quite depressing is the duration of darkness during winter days. And in Shanghai, the lights aren’t usually so bright on the street level, so when it gets dark it feels extraordinarily miserable, totally lacking energy. As if you should hurry yourself to the bathroom, take a quite shower, change into your nightie and go to bed.

And I think I am very much a morning person. I feel most energetic when there are lots of sunlight, when it feels warm and bright on the street and when everyone’s out there enjoying their day. So on every weekend, it’s like, I’m racing with time. I try to be exposed to the sun for as long as I can. Well not exactly wearing my bikini for sun-bathing, but i make sure I locate myself at a spot where I see the sun is shining.

I’m beginning to act like a cat…
